These half height carer screens are designed for someone to be showered by a carer and the buttons at the bottom are so they can be cleaned by a carer. The HHD design is so the end-user can operate the paddle (for opening and closing/locking down) very simply, requiring minimal upper body strength and can be operated from a chair or a shower stool. The doors can also be locked open to allow for a smooth side transfer without having to battle with a screen that wants to close on you. Hi - any kind of additions or pipe entry points can be addressed with the joint tape as its a bit thinner and very easy to manipulate15/22mm holes can be drilled through it to create a pipe collar or if there is existing pipework a split can be used and slightly bunched upward with same method being used after with the main sheet but moving the split to a slightly different location and then finished with the jointing compound. the good thing about these materials is that the butyl backing stays supple and will reseal and cuts you have to put into it or if you have to drill through it (wall only). Yes, UFH can be applied to this, a lot of the matt types have a certain amount of tack on them which will adhere to the matting, if you have to cut the back matting to turn the UFH you might have to use a slither of duct tape to hold the turned edge down but that sticks to the membrane as well. Cement based levellers are also compatible with this membrane but do be very careful not to fill in the pre-formed gradient on the former as it needs to maintain a 1:40 gradient. Non-slip vinyl can be applied to these formers , they are specified in the UK above all other floor formers for accessible bathrooms by local councils and sheltered housing. Use a glue like an Altrofix 19 or similar as they spend most of their time under water, if you have been specified a water soluble glue to fix the vinyl try to use something else that is waterproof around the waste clamp as this is the cut edge that's exposed to water all the time. Hi Stuart, please note that these are the pre-made holes for fixing down the dec and we have not encountered an issue with regards to the space between the screws holes. This floor former has been designed so that it is possible to make additional screw holes if needed anywhere on the dec except inside the eccentric drain plate. If doing this, you will just need to make sure to countersink them so the screws will sit flush in the dec. We hope this helps Thanks for watching

If you cut the drain out, there is an adjustable height collar underneath. You might need to remove some adhesive to do this.

All wetrooms require a tanking membrane above the floor former . Without a membrane you would indeed have a leak. Our video on WaterGuard tanking explains the next process to follow. An essential element to ensure our lifetime guarantee is in place.
